February 2027 Astrology: Solar Eclipse in Aquarius and Mercury Retrograde

February 2027 is a busy month as the sky enters the first eclipse season of the year. The month also brings several important transits squeezed between two eclipses. On February 6, an annular solar eclipse occurs in Aquarius, and on February 21, a lunar eclipse occurs in Virgo. In between, Uranus goes direct in Gemini, and Mercury retrogrades in Pisces. Toward the end of the month, the Sun enters Pisces, and Mars returns to Leo with its retrograde motion. In this article, we explain all the important dates of February 2027 in Turkey Time (TSI) and their meanings. You can find the previous month's calendar in the January 2027 astrology article.

General Sky Map: Eclipse Month in Aquarius Season

At the beginning of February, the Sun is moving through Aquarius, where it has been since January 20. Mercury is in the last degrees of Aquarius, Venus is in Sagittarius, and Mars is retrograde in the first degrees of Virgo. Jupiter is in Leo, Uranus is retrograde in Gemini. Saturn and Neptune are in Aries, and Pluto is direct in Aquarius.

The mood of the month oscillates between Aquarius's themes of innovation, community, and freedom, and Pisces's themes of intuition, imagination, and surrender. Eclipses are generally associated with acceleration, unexpected turns, and realizations that make you say "this can't go on like this anymore." Mercury retrograde, on the other hand, warns in the middle of this speed: "review first, then decide."

February 1: Mercury Enters Pisces

On February 1 at 04:26 (TSI), Mercury moves from Aquarius into Pisces. Aquarius's logical and detached mind gives way to an intuitive, imaginative, and empathetic thinking style. Creative writing, music, art, and listening to others flow more easily during this period.

On the shadow side, there is scatterbrainedness, missing details, and avoiding clear communication. Since Mercury will retrograde in Pisces on February 9, this first week is the last comfortable window to clarify important correspondence and agreements. We explained Mercury's general role in the chart in the Mercury sign article.

February 3: Venus Enters Capricorn

On February 3 at 17:31 (TSI), Venus moves from Sagittarius into Capricorn and stays there until March 1. The adventurous and free-spirited Venus in Sagittarius takes on a more serious, loyal, and long-term thinking tone in Capricorn. Building trust in relationships, keeping promises, and showing love through actions come to the fore. It is also a suitable period for budgeting, investing in things of lasting value, and disciplining expenses.

On the shadow side, there is keeping emotions under too much control, making love conditional, and appearing distant. For the meaning of Venus in the birth chart, you can check out the Venus sign article.

February 6: Annular Solar Eclipse in Aquarius

On February 6 at 18:58 (TSI), a New Moon occurs at 17°38' of Aquarius, and this New Moon is an annular solar eclipse. The Moon passes in front of the Sun but cannot completely cover it, and the edge of the Sun appears as a bright ring. According to NASA data, the annular phase will be visible from southern South America and the coast of Guinea in Africa. It is not visible from Turkey.

In astrology, solar eclipses are read as amplified New Moons. This eclipse in Aquarius can open a new page in the areas of community, friendship, shared goals, technology, and individual freedom. Joining a group, starting an innovative idea you've had in mind for a long time, or breaking away from a habit that restricts you are among the themes of this eclipse. Pluto also moving through Aquarius adds a deep and lasting transformation tone to these beginnings.

The effect of the eclipse is felt most strongly in the house where 17°38' of Aquarius falls in your birth chart. For a detailed explanation, you can check out the which house are the eclipses in article.

February 8: Uranus Goes Direct in Gemini

On February 8 at 15:29 (TSI), Uranus goes direct at 1°41' of Gemini. The desire for change that has accumulated inside during the retrograde since September 2026 can now turn into concrete steps outside. Uranus in Gemini is at the beginning of a long period that brings innovation in communication, learning, transportation, and ways of sharing information. You can find the meaning of the retrograde period in the Uranus retrograde 2026 article, and the effect of Uranus on the generational theme in the Uranus sign article.

February 9: Mercury Retrogrades in Pisces

On February 9 at 20:35 (TSI), Mercury stations at 5°59' of Pisces and begins retrograde motion. The retrograde will last until March 3. During this period, Mercury will return to Aquarius on February 18 at 15:16 and go direct again on March 3 at 15:39 at 20°55' of Aquarius.

Mercury retrograde is associated with delays and misunderstandings in communication, correspondence, transportation, and technology-related matters. But its real meaning is to return, rethink, and complete unfinished business. The retrograde in Pisces is suitable for re-addressing emotional issues and suppressed feelings; the return to Aquarius is suitable for reviewing an idea or a group project. Practical suggestions for this period include reading details twice before signing contracts, making backups, and allowing extra time for travel plans. We explained the general meaning of Mercury retrograde in the what does Mercury retrograde mean article.

February 19: Sun Enters Pisces

On February 19 at 00:33 (TSI), the Sun enters Pisces, and the Pisces season begins. Pisces is a mutable water sign: compassion, intuition, imagination, spirituality, and knowing how to let go are its domain. After Aquarius's question "how do we build the future together?", Pisces asks "what do I need to let go of and what do I need to believe in?" Since it is the last sign of the zodiac, the Pisces season is also read as a period of closure and purification before the new astrological year begins with Aries. You can find the style of Pisces in relationships in the Pisces compatibility article.

February 21: Lunar Eclipse in Virgo and Mars Returns to Leo

On February 21 at 02:25 (TSI), a Full Moon occurs at 2°06' of Virgo, and this Full Moon is a penumbral lunar eclipse. The Moon only passes through Earth's penumbra, so it dims slightly. Although the Moon is above the horizon in Turkey at this time, it is difficult to notice a penumbral eclipse with the naked eye.

Lunar eclipses are read as amplified Full Moons and indicate that something is completed, concluded, or made visible. The Virgo-Pisces axis brings up the balance between order and flow, detail and whole, service and surrender. Reviewing your daily routines, health habits, and work order; letting go of an order that no longer works are among the themes of this eclipse.

On the same day at 17:13 (TSI), Mars, with its retrograde that has been ongoing since January 10, returns from Virgo to Leo. Mars will go direct on April 1 at 20°56' of Leo. During this period, creative projects, your way of self-expression, and issues related to pride may come up again. The entire journey of Mars is in the Mars in Virgo article.

Throughout the Month: Jupiter Retrograde in Leo, Saturn and Neptune Direct in Aries

Jupiter continues its retrograde that began on December 13, 2026, in Leo throughout February and will go direct on April 13, 2027. With Mars also returning to Leo on February 21, Leo themes (creativity, stage, children, love, and self-expression) are more on the agenda in the last week of the month. Details are in the Jupiter retrograde 2026-2027 article. Saturn and Neptune are moving direct in Aries and adding structure and inspiration to new beginnings.
